Your Publishing Technology partner Celebrates 45 years
How does Knowledge work?
In November 2018 it was our birthday and what a 45 years it’s been...
The world is a very different place than it was in 1973 for so many reasons; more than we can ever mention here. However, it is technological change that has had the biggest impact on our day to day lives without doubt. It’s hard to imagine functioning without a mobile phone, yet it really wasn’t that long ago that we had to use a payphone if we were away from home or the office and wanted to make a call. The traditional video shop is no more, being overshadowed by the likes of Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.
The way we consume content has changed beyond recognition, with choice being the name of the game – print, online, voice controlled, digital or a combination of them all. Yet think about it publishers, who has been with you every step of the way – PCS.
Ok, we have changed too but only to keep you one step ahead of the game.
To our customers...
We'd like to say a big thank you!
Our customers have been at the centre of every business decision we have made, products we have developed and changes we have implemented. It’s been a heck of a journey and we thank each and every one of you for making it with us...
Here’s to the road ahead.
But what else was
PCS was born?
The first mobile phone was invented.
On April 3rd 1973, The worlds first mobile phone was made! This invention was revolutionary and we have progressed from brick style “I’m on the train” handsets, to sleek pieces of modern design that seem to do everything. Time to wonder where the next 45 years will take mobile technology!
We joined the EEC and a Special 50p coin was created.
In 1973, a special 50p coin was introduced to celebrate the UK's accession to the European Economic Community. We are now coming full circle with the possibility of a Brexit 50p being commissioned in 2019
