PCS are sponsoring the Society of Editors conference 2017.
The title session of the conference will discuss what social media and technology companies are doing to tackle the phenomenon of fake news as well as debating the importance of legitimate news sources. The high profile panelists for the session include Facebook’s European Director of Media Partnerships Patrick Walker and Google’s Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs Peter Barron. Also joining them are Will Moy, Director of fact-checking organisation Full Fact and regional newspaper editor Keith Harrison, Editor of the Wolverhampton-based Express & Star.
The Executive Editor of media company Bloomberg will chair the title ‘Fake News’ debate at the Society of Editors ‘Fighting for Real News’ conference this month.
Harris joined Bloomberg as a reporter in Frankfurt in 1995 covering the German economy and bond market after an internship at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. She became editor for European utilities and industrials coverage in 1999 and German bureau chief from 2001-2005. Ms. Harris moved to London in 2006 as bureau chief before taking on EMEA-wide coverage of companies from 2010-2013. She has been in her current role, overseeing all of EMEA editorial, for four years.
